SEO é pré-requisito para o sucesso de projetos online, dizem especialistas

Uma das estratégias de Search Engine Marketing (SEM) é o Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Sua implementação gera aumento de tráfego a sites quando estes conquistam um bom posicionamento em mecanismos de busca.

Além de trabalhar termos específicos nos textos de sites para aumentar sua relevância nas buscas, o SEO também cuida de códigos das páginas e nomes das imagens, por exemplo.

Atualmente, o principal desafio na implementação de um projeto de SEO no Brasil é a escassa cultura a respeito da estratégia nos buscadores, afirmam especialistas em SEM.

O Chief Executive Officer da Cadastra, Thiago Bacchin, mostra que, infelizmente, o SEO ainda é visto como uma ação de marketing, embora seja um “pré-requisito básico” em projetos online. Por isso, o ideal é que a implementação do SEO seja feita em paralelo à criação de um novo site. “É muito difícil trabalhar com um projeto pré-existente”, pondera o gerente geral da MídiaClick, Marcelo SantIago.

Alexandre Kavinski, CEO da I-Cherry, alerta que “criar uma estratégia para depois usar o SEO é como construir uma casa e depois pensar onde vai ficar o banheiro”.

A eficiência de um projeto de SEO depende muito do tipo de site que implementa a estratégia. “Se você tem bastante conteúdo, consegue mais oportunidades”, afirma Kavinski. Segundo ele, é possível adotar uma “estratégia de volume, tentando ficar bem posicionado com a palavra "carro", mas também com o termo "carro curitiba”, aponta.

Os especialistas lembram que um projeto de SEO não deve ser implementado e abandonado. É preciso acompanhamento e manutenção, inclusive porque os sites de busca também mudam seus algoritmos.

Se for desconsiderado o fato de que os Links Patrocinados são complementares ao SEO, é possível dizer que o custo-benefício da última estratégia é maior. “Afinal, você não está comprando mídia, apenas o "know how" da coisa”, explica Kavinski.

Caso de sucesso
O case de um varejista eletrônico, cujo nome não pode ser revelado, registrou aumento de 200% nas visitas após 6 meses de implementação de SEO, conta Bacchin. Além disso, o aumento de vendas geradas por visitas da busca natural foi de 170%. O retorno médio sobre o investimento, no período, foi de 120 reais para cada 1 real investido na consultoria.

“Se o varejista tivesse comprado todas essas visitas, teria pago 2 centavos de real por clique em Links Patrocinados, o que seria quase impossível. A média mínima que já vimos em uma campanha grande de varejo chegou a 12 centavos de real”, revela Bacchin.

SantIago recomenda que as empresas fujam de agências especializadas que prometem posicionamento. “Ninguém pode garantir que você aparecerá na primeira página do buscador, mas sim informar a porcentagem na melhoria de performance”.

O International Advertising Bureau (IAB) Brasil possui, em seu site, uma cartilha com perguntas que anunciantes devem se fazer ao passar uma campanha para uma agência de Serch Engine Marketing (SEM).
