Yahoo registra ganhos com novo sistema de publicidade

O novo sistema de publicidade online do Yahoo conseguiu aumentar o número de pessoas que clicam em links que geram receita para a companhia de Internet, informou uma empresa de pesquisa na segunda-feira. Dados coletados pela empresa de medição de audiência da Internet comScore Networks mostrou que o número de usuários do mecanismo de busca do Yahoo que clicaram em anúncios exibidos subiu 5^% na primeira semana após a introdução do novo sistema e 9% na semana seguinte. O novo sistema de anúncios do Yahoo, conhecido como "Project Panama", foi lançado em 5 de fevereiro e é uma peça central da estratégia da companhia para competir com o Google. O sistema de propaganda em busca gera receita para uma companhia como o Yahoo ao inserir anúncios nas páginas de resultados geradas pelas pesquisas dos usuários. Cada vez que um internauta clica em um dos links anunciados, o Yahoo recolhe uma pequena taxa. Portanto, a melhoria da relevância dos resultados ou aumento no número de anúncios pode ajudar a impulsionar o faturamento. "Eles definitivamente reduziram a distância" em relação ao Google, disse o vice-presidente da comScore, James Lamberti. "Apenas uma pequena mudança como essa em centenas de milhões de cliques deve definir uma enorme oportunidade de receita para o Yahoo." Lamberti disse que o real benefício gerado pelo novo sistema de anúncios não será conhecido até que fique claro quanto os anunciantes estão pagando por clique ao Yahoo. "Quando você tem mais cliques, metade da equação está resolvida em termos de geração de mais receita." O Yahoo tem dito que clientes do sistema anterior de anúncios veiculados a buscas serão migrados para a nova plataforma até o final do primeiro trimestre, o que deve levar a melhorias de receita a partir do segundo trimestre.
