Enquanto Yahoo perde espaço no segmento de buscas, Bing cresce

Mudanças na participação na área de pesquisas na web é um reflexo do lançamento do produto da Microsoft e da parceria firmada entre as empresas.

Internautas dos Estados Unidos continuam migrando de serviços de busca, do Yahoo para a Microsoft, uma tendência que começou na metade de 2009, depois que a companhia de softwares lançou o Bing e as duas empresas assinaram uma parceria para a área de buscas.

A participação do Yahoo nas buscas norte-americanas caiu de 17,3% em dezembro para 17% em janeiro, enquanto a Microsoft ganhou terreno: de 10,7% para 11,3%, de acordo com a comScore.

Em abril, antes do lançamento do Bing e do fechamento do acordo, o Yahoo matinha 20,4% das buscas, enquanto a Microsoft detinha apenas 8,2%.

O Google continua dominando o mercado, com 65,4% das pesquisas realizadas em janeiro nos EUA, queda de 0,3 ponto percentual em relação a dezembro, mas ainda assim maior do que os 64,2% registrados em abril.

A queda da participação do Yahoo no mercado traz más notícias para a receita em publicidade em buscas da companhia, que ainda não foi integrada ao acordo com a Microsoft devido a uma aprovação regulatória pendente.

Os representantes do Yahoo disseram várias vezes que a publicidade em buscas continua sendo uma fonte muito importante de receitas para a companhia. Enquanto a empresa pretende terceirizar as funções de busca back-end para a Microsoft, há também planos para continuar a inovação em sites de buscas com recursos de interface para o usuário.
