Corte nega pedido do Google para encerrar ação da American Airlines

“Estamos satisfeitos com a decisão do júri, que negou o pedido do Google. A American Airlines não teria levantado este processo contra o Google se não tivéssemos acreditado nos méritos de nossos apelos. A decisão da corte certifica que teremos uma oportunidade em desenvolver e seguir com nossos pedidos”, escreveu o porta-voz da empresa, Tim Wagner, em uma declaração.
O Google afirmou estar desapontado com a decisão da corte.
“Enquanto nos desapontamos com a negação de nosso pedido, acreditamos que o processo da marca American Airlines é desprovido de mérito”, informou um porta-voz do Google em um documento. “A política de marcas do Google balanceia apropriadamente os interesses dos donos de marcas e a escolha do consumidor, e foi validada por decisões judiciais anteriores.”
No texto da decisão, com uma página, o juiz John McBridge não justificou a razão de ter negado a ação do Google, segundo o blog de Eric Goldman, professor da Santa Clara University School of Law.
