A cultura da otimização do sites deve ser para todos

O Google lançou o primeiro Starter Guide de otimização. São dicas básicas para quem quer otimizar o site, mas não sabe por onde começar. Não são novidade para o mercado de SEO, mas reafirmam a importância de manter um site organizado e bem escrito.
Quem já trabalha com SEO sabe que as instruções no Guideline lançado pelo Google não são novidade. Aliás, tudo que está lá já está há muito tempo no Google Webmaster Center, inclusive traduzido para diversas línguas. Isso mostra o quanto a área cresceu nos últimos anos e quão importante é para usuários e robôs ter um site semântico, organizado e bem escrito.
SEO é um trabalho de reestruturação do site, por isso que dicas simples podem se tornar complicadas quando temos um site grande e complexo pronto e já programado. Por ser um trabalho de reestruturação, o processo de otimização acaba atingindo diversas áreas de produção, como arquitetura de informação, TI e conteúdo.
É na criação dos wireframes e na estrutura de diretórios que devemos pensar como o conteúdo da página será organizado. E junto com o conteúdo organizado vêm a nomenclatura da estrutura que deve levar palavras-chave, e as palavras também compõem outras partes do layout, como botões, destaques, links, etc.
A área de TI, que faz o site acontecer, deve se preocupar em fazer tudo isso funcionar sem afetar a visita do robô nas páginas e prejudicar a navegação do usuário. Toda essa estrutura montada em prol da otimização pode ser resumida em um termo: cultura de otimização.
A cultura de otimização deve ser absorvida por todos os envolvidos na construção de um site para evitar o re-trabalho e tornar os recursos de otimização mais duradouros.
A programação do site, por exemplo, pode ajudar muito na produção de textos otimizados. No SMX São Paulo 2008, que aconteceu pela primeira vez este ano no Brasil, fiz uma apresentação falando sobre como podemos usar a programação do site a favor da criação de páginas dinâmicas com metadados já otimizados. Como? Através do gerenciador de conteúdo dos sites onde títulos das matérias podem virar title tags e o primeiro parágrafo meta descriptions. Com isso, cada página terá title tag e meta description única e descritiva, princípio de otimização prezado pelo Google e demais buscadores.
Escrever textos atraentes e relevantes é o ponto chave da otimização. E o grande segredo é saber escrever pensando que o usuário não tem tempo para ler tudo que vê pela frente. Eles escaneiam as notícias. Lêem fragmentos de textos à medida que navegam.
Por isso que se recomenda usar palavras em negrito, bullets, subtítulos. Isso ajuda ao leitor a detectar mais rápido o tema do texto. E use links âncoras no texto. Hyperlink é o principio da web e é por eles que a teia se forma. Não tema a saída do usuário da sua página.
Todos esses princípios de otimização são baseados na estrutura de hyperlink da web. Com o passar dos anos, teorias e tecnologias novas foram surgindo e o básico acabou ficando para trás. Fato é que de nada vale um guideline de SEO se você não tiver a cultura de otimização incorporada em todos os responsáveis pelo seu site.
Não adianta fazer um site otimizado hoje, se durante a manutenção as práticas forem esquecidas. Ter a cultura de SEO é o que realmente vai fazer seu site ficar bem posicionado e tráfego qualificado.
